Sorry for the downtime guys - the PONG server took a mild hit after a certain admin (me) entered the wrong number in a permissions command.... Long story short - I should have the server up and running again either today or tomorrow.

I wouldn't worry about it right now, might be nice to have up during the lan though.

yep, in the header there is a discrete link to a web based IRC client for anyone to jump on and chat it up... I suspect not many ppl know about it so be sure to check it out.

and let me say that those link icons look fabulous

lol, thanks.... I know a few ppl, well... only one really, who does not like them and wants me to change it back to the old square icons in a row.... Would like to know what everyone else thinks...

There is more than 1 of us who don't like them. Although, I do like the IRC one. I think it is clever.

I think they look fine, however I think the site is about due for a facelift, or at least a banner change. Every six months-a year would be cool for a change in scenery. Just my two cents. Perhaps maybe some sort of contest for a banner with a prize(or extra tickets) at the LAN? Just an idea.

Looks like we're just waiting for the DNS entries to propagate to the world. Once that happens, I can fire up IRC and be back online.

I agree with tarv, the buttons all over the top give the site a very busy appearance. My eye doesn't seem to know where to look.

We may not need the top icons anymore IF we keep the bottom bar.

i agree with lemon, it seems redundant to have the same links at the top and bottom. however, i do know how much time and effort it takes "twizted" to keep this site operating. that said, i really can't demand too much.

Yeah, I actually changed the Facebook and Twitter links in the header to invoke the ones in the bar but I do think I will, at the least, remove those two. I am kinda hoping that perhaps I can get Steam and XFire into the bar at some point...

On a similar note, has anyone else checked out the Chat in the bar? It's pretty awesome and it is persistent while you navigate around AWOL (keeps you logged in and updated and can be minimized without closing the chat)... It uses the Connect ability of either Facebook, MySpace, Twitter or Yahoo to log in.

erm, i cant get it to connect with facebook, it just sits there and says "connecting..."

Try just closing it and then click it again or hit the disconnect button below them (if its there) then try again...
